This Code of Conduct sets the standards every Amana-certified Candidate must uphold. It forms part of the Candidate Service Agreement, and breach of this Code may result in disciplinary action, including removal from the Amana talent pool and termination of engagement.
1. Professionalism and punctuality
- Arrive on time for all shifts and assignments, and notify Amana and the Client promptly of any unavoidable delay or absence.
- Perform assigned duties diligently and to the standard of training received through the Amana Academy.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with Clients, their families, and Amana staff at all times.
2. Hygiene, presentation and uniform
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming at all times while on duty.
- Wear the issued Amana uniform, apron and/or identification badge while on assignment, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Follow all hygiene and food-safety standards taught in Academy training when handling food or infants.
3. Honesty and integrity
- Handle all Client funds, valuables and property with complete honesty; never take, use, or misplace anything belonging to a Client without express permission.
- Immediately report any accidental damage, loss, or error to the Client and to Amana.
- Never misrepresent qualifications, certifications, or experience to Amana or a Client.
4. Respect and courtesy
- Treat every member of a Client household or organisation, including children and other staff, with courtesy, patience and respect.
- Never use physical force, threats, verbal abuse, or humiliating treatment toward any person, particularly children or vulnerable persons in your care.
- Respect the cultural, religious and personal preferences of each Client household.
5. Confidentiality
- Comply fully with the Candidate Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreement, including the strict prohibition on photographing, recording, or posting about a Client's home, family, or affairs on social media.
- Do not discuss one Client's household affairs with another Client, with other Candidates, or with any third party.
6. Prohibited conduct
- Theft, dishonesty, or misappropriation of Client property or funds.
- Any form of abuse, harassment, neglect, or endangerment of a child or vulnerable person.
- Accepting direct engagement or payment from a Client outside the Amana platform, in breach of the non-circumvention obligations in the Candidate Service Agreement.
- Attending an assignment under the influence of alcohol or unauthorised drugs.
- Bringing an unauthorised visitor into a Client's home or premises without the Client's express consent.
- Any conduct that endangers the safety, dignity, or wellbeing of a Client or member of their household.
7. Health and safety
- Follow all reasonable health and safety instructions given by the Client and Amana.
- Report any unsafe condition at a Client's premises to Amana promptly.
8. Reporting concerns
- Report any concern about a Client's treatment of you, unsafe working conditions, or any request to perform unlawful or unsafe tasks, to Amana's grievance channel without fear of retaliation.
9. Consequences of breach
9.1A breach of this Code of Conduct may result in a verbal or written warning, mandatory retraining, suspension from the talent pool, revocation of Amana Academy certification, and/or termination of the Candidate Service Agreement, depending on the severity of the breach, at Amana's reasonable discretion and following a fair investigation.
